Reminiscence

Once I was walking down a lonely park
When I heard the song of a gayful lark,
It reminded me of the melody of our gone college days
Which now hang like the cloudy greys...
Of the friends that I met and the ones that I kept,
With whom I laughed and wept.
With a cigarette in hand and sometimes a little wine
We tried to enjoy the best of life's punchline;
Sitting on the rooftop with the sun on our back
And of the times we did not have track,
Those were the times of confidences
Or rather times of indulgences.
Even to this day those memories creep
In my dreams and those thoughts sweep
Back like visions drawn in watercolour,
But the colours are no longer mellower.
As my feet trampled on the fallen leaves,
With the sound of the past my heart grieves;
Was it all there? Was I there?
I lost trace of it and it is nowhere,
That which was once thought to be forever living
Is now all but sorrowfully evanescing.

Losses losses all the way

There was a great show going out there
Somebody was fighting with somebody
In a land that belonged to nobody;
It was a great show, so who does care!

We belonged to a group of eager spectators
Enjoying the activity and its outcome
Like a moment that might never come,
Not bothered what they were fighting for.

They fell down there when the bullets flowed
No one was there to take the blame;
And what we did? Just honored them
Saying that it was patriotism that they showed.

At last when the sound of the bullets faded away
And the fighting was somehow refrained,
It was seen there was nothing gained
But losses losses all the way.
